On her return to Africa, Peace Hyde witnessed the effects of a lack of education first hand on the streets of Accra, Ghana. The injustice of
young girls barely 12 years old, carrying heavy loads on their heads to make less than $1 a day and consequently sleeping on the streets of local markets, was too much for the former education specialist to bear. She saw a program like Aim Higher Africa, providing solutions and support to these street children who had no access to any formal education to change their situation. When a street child or grassroots entrepreneur is given free education and entrepreneurial development it can break the cycle of poverty and help them to take back control of their lives with a knock on effect of empowering those children in their communities too.

We create great products that help to transform the lives of grassroots entrepreneurs all over Africa.

The Aim Higher Africa T Shirt For a Dream Initiative was launched in 2018 with the simple idea of creating products that will engage the
world in the fight against poverty in Africa. Half of the proceeds from the sale of each product goes towards empowering grassroots
entrepreneurs in impoverished communities in Africa, to develop entrepreneurial skills and the right financial literacy tools that will help
them build scalable and sustainable businesses that will transform the lives of the entire community.

The Aim Higher Africa A T 4 A Dream is a movement to galvanize our worldwide community to come together to help put an end to unemployment and poverty in Africa through entrepreneurship development. We are guided by one abiding principle and that is the right mindset can completely transform the lives of unemployed youths to achieve their fullest potential. That principle drives us every day to do what we do. We also believe that people’s choices of what to buy and wear have the power to change the world. Our great T-shirts are at the heart of this movement.

Each T-shirt sold, has the power to make the dream of an entrepreneur in Africa a reality by providing them with state of the art entrepreneurship education at the Aim Higher Africa skills acquisition center, investment in their start-up and access to our financial literacy program. We are committed to fair-labor conditions as well as environmentally friendly materials whenever possible to do so.

Africa’s impressive economic performance over the past decade has rekindled hopes for the continent’s future. The challenge for the region is to ensure this growth translates into effective poverty reduction, job creation, and narrowing inequalities. Africa’s poverty rates have declined considerably, but serious disparities within countries and among different population groups remain. Today, African youth represent a disproportionate 60 percent of the continent’s unemployed, and of these 40 million youth, 22 million, many of them women, have given up on finding a job. In countries such as Cameroon, Cape Verde, Ghana, Rwanda and Zambia, poverty is at least three times higher in rural than in urban areas.

Poverty reduction lies at the heart of everything Aim Higher Africa does in Africa to advance human dignity and inclusive development. We help our communities on the multiple and interconnected dimensions of poverty and inequality by connecting people to livelihoods, entrepreneurship development, start-up funding, financial literacy, and higher standards of living, in addition to empowering them with the ability to make life choices. With your purchase of a T-shirt, we are one step closer to empowering the life of an entrepreneur on the continent to realize their potential and turn their dream into a passion that creates employment opportunities for thousands of people.
