BRAND PROMOTION LESSONS FROM DAVIDO’S BET AWARDS ACCEPTANCE SPEECH
David Adeleke (Davido) could be donning the cap of the best international act after receiving the BET Award but there is certainly another cap he wears quite well and that’s brand promotion. At the 2018 edition of the prestigious BET Awards, Davido bared his heart to other artists who were open to collaboration to come on board. He also went further to urge Americans to “come to Africa and eat the food.”
Entrepreneurship is a shameless man’s business. This is not intended to sound offensive but an entrepreneur has no shame in selling his brand. You love your company, you have spent your time and resources to build it then you should not derail from telling everyone that comes across you what you do and have to offer.
Most times we wait for the perfect place and timing but the truth is that they are utopian. Sell your business everywhere you go and at any given time. Chances are that you could meet your likely desired sponsors, investors, or even partners in the most random places and at the most random timing.

You will find pressure points – This opens an outlet for you to build a genuine grassroots client base and have them to spread the word on your behalf.
You will draw contrast – This is the best way to make way past the crowd, human brains are wired to draw distinctions and the more you can help them do so, the farther and faster your ideas will spread.
