IT’S ALL ABOUT FINDING OPPORTUNITIES: LEARN HOW ACHENYO IDACHABA TURNED A DEADLY PLANT INTO A THRIVING BUSINESS
A computer scientist and business analyst-turned-entrepreneur, US-born businesswoman Achenyo Idachaba always dreamed of starting a business in her parent’s native country of Nigeria. Eight years ago her dream came true as she moved to Ibadan, and six years ago started her own company, MitiMeth.
Idachaba’s company produces both home and personal accessories from an aquatic weed also known as the water hyacinth that clogs waterways, stops trading, interrupts schooling and disrupts everyday living. In this scourge, green entrepreneur Achenyo Idachaba saw an opportunity and tapped into it.
No wonder this sustainable and environmentally-aware business got her nominated to the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards. Follow her journey as she turns weeds into woven wonders.
